Conditions: Freezing at beginning, sweaty hot at end.
Summary: Do not let the down hill fly trick you. If you do not train on 1,000 foot drops consistently, this is not the race for you. The altitude was no issue at all because you are free-falling over 5,000 feet. I pulled/strained a muscle at mile 14 and decided it wasn’t worth it to push through. I did a walk/run for the remainder of the race after I wrapped my leg at an aid station. This race took me out for almost two months. I will never do a downhill again. Ever!!
